About

Yep, well, my name is Kortni.  Born in 1984 and raised in sweet south Georgia. Faced with some major decisions and complications aka the normal American life, I have decided that things don’t make you happy, people and time do. I then next decided to do something different in my life. We became car-free, started a garden and bought some chickens! I would say way different 😀 This is my story about my journey towards a happier debt-free, more sustainable lifestyle without losing sight on what’s important.. Successes and failures. Beginning with minimization of mind, body and home,  gardening without chemicals, and reducing unnecessary use of anything. I’m hoping for y’all to see me coast along into being a pro gardener and chef, master canner, better artist, seamstress, designer, the list goes on..

That’s my little girl, Sydni. She is my best friend and biggest fan. She never thinks my ideas are crazy and her dream is designing her own cob home to test the waters, then “helping other kids want to build mud houses” She’s 8, I know. I’m hoping for a scholarship for sustainable living by the time she’s in high school. Hippie.. She is also one of my commuter partners and is learning very fast. I can only hope to inspire her now with a sustainable lifestyle so she will never feel like she’s ‘missing’ anything, it’s the rest of the world that is missing out.

We have recently embarked into a new plane of our life. Where everything is different!!

    • Terri! Thanks!! Proper respect.
It has it’s moments, especially teaching the children, and the moments near breaking points 😉 But then we see someone engulfed with materialism and we know we are on the right track!
